Alongside his active conducting career, Larsen has always devoted part of his time to teaching. He has taught at several universities, from the University of Copenhagen to Bradley University in Illinois, USA. For several years, he held a tenured position as a member of the conducting faculty at the world-renowned Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. Today, he is affiliated with the Royal Danish Academy of Music and frequently gives master classes around the world.

Larsen is also a sought-after inspirational speaker in the business community, addressing subjects such as musical communication and body language.

Larsen has published books and musical compositions and has recorded CDs with a wide range of Danish orchestras. He also regularly performs as a chamber musician, playing both piano and clarinet.

By appointment of the Royal Danish Court, Larsen recently chaired the committee tasked with selecting the official March of Honor for the newly proclaimed King Frederik X.

In 2026, Larsen is serving as District Governor Elect of Denmark’s largest Rotary district, District 1440, and will therefore serve as District Governor during the 2027–28 Rotary year.
